At Polytechnic Batam, students, janitors, and lecturers often face difficulties in determining the availability
and usage status of classrooms—whether they are booked, empty, in use, or under maintenance. In
addition, most rooms do not display updated information regarding the subject being taught or the lecturer
in charge. This also applies to lecturer rooms, where there is no system to show which lecturers are
currently present. To address these issues, the person in charge (PIC) of each room usually prints the
schedule and attaches it to the door. However, this manual method is inefficient—it consumes excessive
paper, requires constant updates, and lacks real-time accuracy. Therefore, a digital solution is needed: a
system that can dynamically display room status, schedules, and lecturer availability in real time. This will
not only improve information accessibility and reduce paper usage but also enhance the efficiency of room
and resource management across the campus.
